Shirley MacLaine and Michael Caine are buddying up for "Bewitched" at Columbia Pictures.
The iconic thesps are in negotiations to star in the film adaptation of the popular 1960s television show, along with Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell.
MacLaine would play Endora, meddling mother to witch Samantha (Kidman). Agnes Moorehead played the role on the TV show.
Caine would star as Samantha's father.
Red Wagon partners Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher are producing the pic, which begins shooting this summer.
Nora Ephron and her sister Delia are co-writing the script.
Col co-prexy of production Doug Belgrad and exec VP of production Amy Baer are overseeing the pic at the studio.
"Bewitched" would rep a reunion of sorts for MacLaine and Caine, who first appeared onscreen together in the 1966 film "Gambit."
MacLaine is currently filming Curtis Hanson's "In Her Shoes," starring Cameron Diaz, for Fox.
MacLaine also stars in the upcoming Richard Attenborough-directed "Closing the Ring," a love story set in Belfast during WWII, for Odyssey Entertainment.
Caine just wrapped "Around the Bend," opposite Christopher Walken, for Warner Independent Pictures. He is currently filming Paramount's "The Weather Man," opposite Nicolas Cage, and has signed on to play Alfred the butler in Warner's new "Batman" pic.
