Protag is a portly woman living in England with her actor husband, who never seems up to a performance in the bedroom. She sets out to change her life when she discovers "Elegance," a 40-year-old style manual that helps her transform her appearance, giving her confidence to address her dying marriage.
Monger scripted "The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill but Came Down a Mountain."
Purchase was orchestrated out of Scott Free's U.K. offices by managing director Julie Payne and exec Samantha Thomas, both of whom will steer development.
Scott Free, the shingle owned by Ridley and Tony Scott and run by Lisa Ellzey, has been on a prolific pace. Recent pics include "Man on Fire," directed by Tony Scott and toplining Denzel Washington; "Kingdom of Heaven," starring Orlando Bloom, which Ridley Scott is helming in Morocco; "In Her Shoes," which Curtis Hanson is directing with Cameron Diaz starring; and drama "Tristan and Isolde," directed by Kevin Reynolds and starring James Franco.
Scott Free is also producing the CBS/Paramount series pilot "Numbers."
