'Millionaire' answers all of BV's questions

Syndie gamer renewed as ratings up 23% from last year

NEW YORK -- Buena Vista has called for a third season of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire."

Gamer sits third in its category behind veteran franchises "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy." According to Nielsen, season to date the show registers a 3.7 (up 23% from last year).

Born out of the success of the primetime iteration, Meredith Vieira-hosted syndie version has seen improvements in almost every daypart. On WABC New York, year to year growth was 68% for the month of February.

"The numbers speak for themselves," said Buena Vista prexy Janice Marinelli. "With remarkable double-digit growth in key markets and a steady climb across the board, 'Millionaire' has shown that it has real staying power."
