Activision's "Call of Duty" took home three awards, including overall videogame of the year, at the seventh annual Interactive Achievement Awards on Thursday.
Kudofest was held as part of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences' summit in Las Vegas for top videogame execs and developers.
Electronic Arts received the most kudos -- 11.
Ubisoft's "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" took home the most awards for a single game with eight, including console game of the year. Jerry Bruckheimer recently bought the rights to adapt "Prince" into a film.
Peter Molyneux, managing director of Lionhead Studios and creator of "Black and White," was honored with the Hall of Fame award.
The Interactive Academy has been trying to establish its kudofest as the gold standard among a glut of videogame awards from outlets ranging from the Intl. Game Developers' Assn. to Spike TV. The 5,000-plus member organization, based in L.A., is topped by executive director Gordon Bellamy.
