You can't spell Oscar without "car."
For the third awards season in a row, General Motors revved up "Ten," a tented fashion/car show designed to rejuvenate the GM brand to the youth market. Consider the bash corporate botox.
As models like
Matthew Perry,
Heather Graham,
Kim Cattrall and
Kelis strutted down the runway, GM cars -- including the Tonka truckesque Hummer H3T concept car -- cruised in the background.
Front row at the show included omnipresent fashionistas like songbird yellow-clad
Paris Hilton,
Nicole Richie and Los Angeles police chief
William Bratton.
"I'm here because of my wife," he admitted sheepishly, with a nod towards his spouse, CourtTV's
Rikki Klieman. Bratton said LAPD is set for security at the Oscars, noting "We expect a very quiet week."
Not so quiet was the response to Camp Freddy, an all-star cover band featuring
Dave Navarro, with guest performers including
Cypress Hill and Aerosmith's
Steven Tyler. Among those who rocked along:
Carmen Electra,
Owen Wilson,
Mischa Barton,
Gavin Rossdale and
Antonio Sabato Jr.
