Russell center of 'Circle' pic for Mission

Project still gathering financing, expected to lens this fall

Helmer Chuck Russell ("The Scorpion King") has committed to direct "Thornwood Circle," a sexually charged supernatural thriller that Richard Jefferies ("Cold Creek Manor") is penning.

Mission Entertainment is producing the pic. Jefferies will exec produce.

Mission prexy Peter Douglas and exec VP Rob Paris are in talks with financial partners for the project, which is expected to start shooting this fall.

Pic, set in Northern California, centers on a young woman visited by a series of erotic dreams that are at first a welcome distraction but soon take a dangerous turn.

Helmer said that although the pic will have CG elements and special effects, the story is neither a thriller nor a big-budget f/x-driven picture.

Jefferies recently sold the pitch "Midnight Sun" to Disney; he is exec producing the project. He's also set to make his directorial debut with the indie road movie "Road Master."
