Bush 'Press' gig pumps Russert ratings
Newsmag averages 4.6 mil viewers for season to date

That was a bigger audience than all the other Sunday public affairs programs combined on Feb. 8 and the show's largest since Vice President Cheney sat down with Russert on Sept. 16, 2001, immediately following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
CBS' "Face the Nation" averaged 3.2 million viewers; ABC's "This Week With George Stephanopoulos," 2.6 million; and Fox Television's "News Sunday," 1.3 million.
Season to date, "Meet" has been averaging 4.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.
In other fringe ratings, CBS' "The Early Show" posted its best delivery in a decade in total viewers (3.78 million) and the key adults 25-54 demo (3.0 rating), according to Nielsen. It remains well behind NBC News' "Today" in the ayem race.
CBS latenight host David Letterman also had a particularly strong showing last week, continuing to post double-digit growth over the same frame last year, according to Nielsen. While NBC's "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" beat out "Late Show" overall, "Letterman" narrowly beat "Leno" on Feb. 2 for a rare victory in total viewers (6.41 million vs. 6.39 million).
On the daytime scene, NBC's "Days of Our Lives" won its third straight week in women 18-49, drawing a 3.1 rating. CBS' leader soap "The Young and the Restless" remained the most watched daytime sudser, averaging 6.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen.
