MIAMI -- Expanding on the success of an original reality series on moviemaking, "Proyecto 48," TNT Latin America has added Chile and Venezuela to the participating countries.
Last year, the feevee invited teams of three would-be filmmakers from Mexico, Argentina and Brazil to register online for the chance to make a short film. TNT picked one team from each country and gave them the resources and 48 hours to produce a short. TNT crews followed the teams, shooting footage for a series including the finished films.
It bowed the Argentinian series in August, the Mexican installment in October and the Brazilian version in December.
The inaugural Chilean production, which wrapped Feb. 1, is tentatively scheduled to air in March. Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela and Brazil will follow throughout the year.
"Proyecto 48" is TNT Latin America's second foray into original in-region production. Two years ago, it held contest "Passport to Fame," the winners of which got a chance to act in a TNT movie produced in Rio.
