Mischer, Kirschner producing Dem bash

Duo to work on creative plan, look of event

Don Mischer will serve as exec producer for this summer's Democratic National Convention, with Ricky Kirshner as producer of the event, which takes place at Boston's FleetCenter, July 26-29.

Mischer is in charge of the creative plan, look and execution of the convention program.

"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work on this unique and important television event that will be watched by millions of viewers around the globe," Mischer said.

Having served as the producer of the 2000 Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles, Kirshner will return to work with Mischer on the creative plan and coordinate the physical layout of the stage, platform and surrounding area, as well as the sound and lighting.

Mischer's producing and directing credits include the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games, the 100th anniversary of Carnegie Hall and Barbra Streisand's millennium concert in Las Vegas. He also produced specials with Robin Williams, Cher, Goldie Hawn and Frank Sinatra, among others.

The DNCC has also named Alan Rose to serve as Convention Hall director. He will supervise all activities inside the FleetCenter for the DNCC and work in coordination with construction and production managers as well as the security team.
