NEW YORK -- Shortly after her script "Monster-In-Law" drew Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda, screenwriter Anya Kochoff has pacted to write a pair of pictures for Dimension Films. Kochoff will produce both films with Jose Rosen.
First up will be "Manhattan Baby," a comedy about a career-driven single woman who has sacrificed everything to become New York's most-sought- after baby group mogul. Kochoff will follow with "Girls Gone Wild," a comedy about a thirtysomething woman who endures a horrible breakup with her boyfriend and decides to go a little wild on a vacation with two best friends. Both projects were sold in pitches by Endeavor, which made the deal with Dimension co-presidents Andrew Rona and Brad Weston and business affairs execs Andrew Gumpert and Lou Mosquera.
"Anya is a terrific new writer whose stories tap into the young, contemporary life experiences and issues of women," said Dimension co-chairman Bob Weinstein.
The Kochoff-scripted "Monster-In-Law" will be directed by "Legally Blonde" helmer Robert Luketic. The New Line comedy is about a young woman (Lopez) whose marriage puts her in close proximity to the mother-in-law from hell.
