J.Lo singing 'Tralala'

Shingle picked up rights from Distraction

Jennifer Lopez's Nuyorican Prods. will adapt European variety show "Le Grand Tralala" for the American market.

Shingle picked up U.S. rights from Montreal-based Distraction Formats, which brokered the deal.

Program's emphasis is spontaneity: A celeb emcee with no clues about the show's content or guests hosts the hourlong variety show before a live audience. Series was originally produced for France 2, and Lopez took a turn as one of the guest hosts.

"After appearing on the show in France, I knew I wanted to be involved with bringing 'Le Grand Tralala' to the States," said Lopez. "I felt such a rush with the live audience -- it was both a challenging and rewarding experience, especially having to perform off the cuff with no prep time."

France 2 has already ordered an additional 10 episodes of the European edition.

Lopez will produce the U.S. version along with Simon Fields and Julio Caro. Team will present the format to broadcast, cable and Latino nets in the coming weeks.
