"How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" helmer Donald Petrie will direct the romantic comedy "Lady Luck" for New Regency and 20th Century Fox, with plans to begin production this spring.
Originally written by Jonathan Bernstein, James Greer and Mark Blackwell ("Max Keeble's Big Move") and rewritten by I. Marlene King, pic is the story of the luckiest girl in the world who finds her continual good fortune swapped with that of a chronically unlucky man.
Petrie most recently directed "Welcome to Mooseport," starring Ray Romano, which Fox will release next month.
The film is produced through Arnold Rifkin and Bruce Willis' Cheyenne Enterprises. Senior VP Kara Francis oversees the project for New Regency's filmed entertainment president Sanford Panitch.
New Regency will release "The Girl Next Door" March 12.
