Paramount has decided it wants to go on a "Honeymoon From Hell," purchasing a spec comedy script from tyro writer Mark Colby Yosowitz for low- to mid-six figures for Kelsey Grammer to produce through his Par-based Grammnet shingle.

"Honeymoon" centers on a bride and groom who, after breaking off their wedding, decide to bring their respective bridesmaid and best man to their exotic honeymoon destination with neither knowing that the other is at the same location. Yosowitz wrote the script as his own wedding approached as a possible worst-case scenario.

Grammer and senior VP of feature development Joanne Asquith Weiss will produce while producer/manager Brooklyn Weaver of Energy Entertainment, who manages Yosowitz, will exec produce. Director of development Jessica Hochman Casale brought the project into Grammnet.

Other feature projects in development at Grammnet include "The Case of the Halloween Hangman," "Lost Soul" and "Frankenteacher." Weaver is producing "Planet Terry" and exec producing "The Number 23," both at New Line, along with "Turn" at Radar Pics, "Rapid" at Columbia and "Bachelorette" at Universal.
