Touchstone biz exec upped to senior VP

Longarzo to oversee day-to-day matters

HOLLYWOOD -- Touchstone TV business affairs exec Jerry Longarzo has been upped to senior VP of the division.

Longarzo, who's been with the Walt Disney Co. since 1996, will continue to report to Touchstone TV exec veep Howard Davine. He'll oversee day-to-day matters inside the studio's business affairs department.

"Jerry's negotiating skills and style have won him the praise and respect of all those who work with him, both inside and outside the studio," Davine said. "This well-deserved promotion acknowledges Jerry's stature as a leader in our department and as one of the preeminent business affairs executives in our industry."

Besides his oversight duties, Longarzo will continue to handle business affairs on Touchstone skeins "Alias," "Line of Fire," "Less Than Perfect" and "Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital."

He also works on development and production emanating from production shingles set up at Touchstone such as Wass/Stein and those of Marc Platt, John Eisendrath, Alex Kurtzman-Counter and Roberto Orci, Susan Dickes, Larry Andries, Marla Ginsburg and Michael Edelstein.

Longarzo was previously vice president of business affairs, a title he had held since 1999. He joined the company as director of business and legal affairs for Disney Televentures before moving to Touchstone as director of business affairs.

Exec joined Disney from the Golf Channel, where he launched the cabler's Western regional office. He was also assistant counsel for Rainbow Programming Holdings from 1990-94.
