Majesco goes mobile with Nintendo

Cyberbiz Brief

Most of the talk about interactive convergence may be focusing on the living room, but vidgame developer Majesco is thinking mobile, signing a deal to bring video content to Nintendo's popular handheld Game Boy Advance.

Company secured approval from Nintendo to begin selling cartridges with up to 45 minutes of video and plans to launch 12 titles in the spring. It didn't specify what they would be but hinted at least some will be cartoons, targeting the Game Boy's young demographic base.

Videos utilize compression technology that Majesco believes will soon be able to hold up to 90 minutes of content, which would let the cartridges carry some feature-length films.
