Metallica to help Fox ring in 2004
Vegas party comes with $200 price tag
Acts will perform in a pavilion built for the occasion in front of the Venetian Hotel. Show is staged from 8-9:30 p.m. PT and broadcast to the East Coast starting at 11:30 p.m. ET.
Last year's show featured perfs by Sheryl Crow, Ashanti and Sugar Ray.
Unlike Fox's Times Square competitor, attendance at "America's Party" has a price: $200. Ducats, sold online at vegas.com, allow patrons entry to the concert and provide front-of-the-line entrance to nightclubs Studio 54 at MGM, Rain at the Palms and Ra at the Luxor.
While the other acts go their merry way to ring in 2004, Metallica will do a latenight show at the Hard Rock's nightclub the Joint.
