Fox ups D.C. chief Hume to VP

Exec to continue as bureau head

Fox News Channel said Monday it has upped Washington, D.C., bureau chief Kim Hume to vice president.

Hume, who will continue to serve as bureau topper, becomes the only Fox News VP in Washington. She has supervised coverage of key stories in the nation's capital, including last year's sniper attacks, the war in Iraq and the 2001 terrorist attacks on the Pentagon and Gotham as well as the disputed 2000 presidential election.

Before joining Fox News, Hume worked at ABC News for more than a decade, focusing on politics, Capitol Hill and the White House.

Hume is married to Fox News Washington managing editor Brit Hume.
