Dice rolls to Discovery

Miller's successor to oversee marketing

Discovery Networks U.S. has hired Ken Dice as executive VP of marketing with responsibility for brand-strategy development, media planning and all campaigns in advertising and promotion.

Dice will oversee the marketing for Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, Travel Channel and Discovery Health Channel as well as seven other Discovery cable networks with less distribution and all of the company's interactive programming.

Finding Dice took awhile: He succeeds Chris Miller, who resigned in July. Most recently, Dice was senior VP of consumer marketing for Sony Electronics. Before that, he worked at Leo Burnett Advertising, where he oversaw clients such as McDonald's, Reebok, Eli Lilly and Hewlett-Packard.
