Maybury to helm psychological thriller
John Maybury ("Love Is the Devil") will direct the script by Marc Rocco and Massy Tadjedin. Shooting is expected to start early next year in Glasgow, England.
Psychological thriller concerns a Gulf War veteran with amnesia who has returned to his native Vermont. When he is wrongly arrested on a murder charge and lands in an asylum, a well-meaning doctor puts him on a heavy course of experimental drugs, restrains him in a jacket-like device and locks him away in the body drawer of the basement morgue. The process sends him on a journey into the future, where he can foresee his death and must try to stop it.
Pic was put together by Mandalay's Peter Guber, George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh. Mandalay's Ori Marmur will oversee the project with Section Eight's Ben Cosgrove.
