The cabler's "Richard Pryor: I Ain't Dead Yet, &*%$" is skedded to air Nov. 30 and will salute the comedian best known for his outrageous off-color humor.
"Richard is truly an original -- a comedy legend," said senior VP of programming and development Lauren Corrao. "His irreverent style and honesty about his own personal life managed to hit a chord with all audiences and made Richard a pioneer among standup comedians. We are honored to be participating in this special."
Jennifer Lee Pryor, Lauren Gray and Mark Krantz are exec producers.
"It's not a BS didn't-he-used-to-be-great tribute -- it's a funny goddamn show," Pryor said. "I may have MS, but I ain't dead yet."
Special will include best-of in-concert footage of Pryor, never-heard-before diary excerpts and celebrity commentary. Among the comics paying homage will be Chris Rock, Jon Stewart, Denis Leary, Dave Chappelle, Margaret Cho, Jamie Foxx, Whoopi Goldberg, Steve Harvey, George Lopez and Wanda Sykes.
"Standards and practices have been hanging around," quipped Pryor's wife, Jennifer Lee Pryor, adding, "It's very moving to hear all these wonderful comics speak about Richard's influence on them."
