The co-production market will bring together international producers, financiers, TV stations, distribs and funders to generate opportunities for international co-productions. Berlinale topper Dieter Kosslick has appointed Sonja Moerkens to manage the Feb. 8-9 event.
Individual meetings will be scheduled before the mart. Producers with feature projects -- budgeted at between E2 million ($2.3 million) and $9.3 million with at least 30% of funding in place -- who are looking for co-production partners are invited to apply.
Last year's initiatives, such as the cooperation with the CineMart in Rotterdam and the Independent Feature Project New York, will be continued as part of the co-production market. The event will liaise with the Berlinale Talent Campus, the fest's educational platform launched last year.
The talent project market will give 30 participants from this year's Berlinale Talent Campus a chance to discuss their projects with experienced reps from different branches of the industry.
The campus, which will select 500 participants, has already received 1,884 applications from 85 countries, with the highest number of applicants from Germany (229), the U.K. (212) and the U.S. (200). Dennis Hopper, Wim Wenders, Tom Tykwer and Anthony Minghella were among the filmmakers at last year's Berlinale Talent Campus.
