According to preliminary nationals from Nielsen, ABC and NBC tied for second on the night in 18-49, with the Alphabet powered by strong numbers for "The Bachelor" (5.9/15 in adults 18-49, 12.6 million viewers overall). Net's "My Wife and Kids" (4.2/13 in 18-49) and "It's All Relative" (3.9/11 in adults 18-49) were the top non-sports choices from 8 to 9.
For the Peacock, "Law & Order" (6.1/16 in adults 18-49, 16.1 million viewers) again defeated its combined drama competish of "Karen Sisco" on ABC (3.1/8 in adults 18-49, 8.3 million viewers) and "Brotherhood of Poland, N.H." on CBS (2.1/5 in adults 18-49, 6.7 million viewers). From 8 to 10, both "Ed" (2.6/8 in adults 18-49, 8.1 million viewers) and "West Wing" (4.6/11 in adults 18-49, 13.3 million viewers) were on the low end of their ratings range.
It was a slow night for CBS, which was led by "King of Queens" (3.7/9 in adults 18-49, 11.1 million viewers overall).
Preliminary 18-49 averages for the night: Fox, 5.7/15; ABC, 4.4/12, tied with NBC, 4.4/12; WB, 2.7/7; CBS, 2.5/7; UPN, 1.5/4.
In total viewers: Fox led with 15.4 million viewers.
