'Sellers' market for duo

Rush, Theron, Lithgow star in pic

Icon Film Distribution and Warner Home Video have picked up theatrical and homevideo distribution rights in the U.K., Australia and New Zealand to HBO Films' "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers," which wrapped in London this summer.

BBC Films retains its previously secured TV rights to the pic.

"The structure of the deal allows us to develop even stronger ties with our partners at Warner Home Video and BBC Films," said Nick Hill, CEO of Icon Films U.K. Rosa Bosch and Penny Wolf, managing directors of HBO Films London, said HBO is anticipating a "productive partnership with these companies." "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers," a biopic about the late British comedian, stars Geoffrey Rush, Charlize Theron and John Lithgow. Stephen Hopkins-helmed pic is based on Roger Lewis' book of the same name.
