Orgs to push prod'n

World Brief

The Brazilian government will create film commissions countrywide to stimulate the production of local pics and encourage more foreign projects to shoot here.

The commissions will be nonprofit org funded by federal, state and town governments as well as with resources from private companies, said Culture Ministry cabinet chief Sergio Sa Leitao.

"The commissions will eventually be self-sustainable," said Sa Leitao, who did not disclose the budget.

The Culture Ministry and national film agency Ancine are in charge of the project.
