Lizzy Caplan, Daniel Franzese

Lizzy Caplan and Daniel Franzese have signed to co-star opposite Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams in the upcoming Paramount comedy "Mean Girls" for helmer Mark S. Waters ("Freaky Friday"). Tina Fey ("Saturday Night Live") penned the screenplay, adapted from the Rosalind Wiseman book "Queen Bees and Wannabes: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends and Other Realities of Adolescence." Lorne Michaels is producing. Pic begins lensing this month in Toronto. Caplan was last seen starring in Fox's sitcom "The Pitts" and appearing on skeins "Freaks & Geeks" and "Smallville." Franzese has been seen in "Bully," "Hometown Legend" and "Party Monster."
