Henning flies Parsons pic
Country icon doc to preem on Beeb
Helped by music journo and Parsons biographer Sid Griffin, Hennig is filming "Fallen Angel Gram Parsons" in the U.S., with appearances by fellow Byrds member Chris Hillman, manager Phil Kaufman and Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards.
Hennig, himself a musician with Berlin alternative country combo Norrin Radd, raised the film's undisclosed budget with the help of Alfred Holighaus, film professor and director of the Berlin Film Festival's Perspektive Deutsches Kino section. "We met accidentally when buying cigars and discussed the film's financing in the shop's backroom den," Hennig said.
"Fallen Angel Gram Parsons" will premiere on BBC in January before hitting festivals and German theaters in spring.
