Thesps rally against the clock

Celebs create, prepare, perform plays in one day

Monday night's third annual "24 Hour Plays" benefit raised money for Gotham arts org Working Playgroundwhile simultaneously revealing which thesps thrive under pressure.

Brave thesps perform in six 10-minute plays started from scratch the day before, hitting the stage with little sleep, nourishment or primping. In other words, it's a good chance to see celebrities looking like normal people.

Putting themselves on the spot were 24-hour alums Rosie Perez (who gave the most powerful perf of the evening), Sam Rockwell, Liev Schreiber, Rachel Dratch, Griffin Dunne, Brooke Shields and Fisher Stevens, along with newcomers Bebe Neuwirth, Christina Ricci, Alan Cumming and Adam Goldberg.

Post-perf, cast and audience tried to dodge the rain on their way to the Whiskey Bar at the W Hotel, where the dance floor filled up in record time.
