Monterastelli, Fox 'Strike' thriller deal

Scribe previously worked on 'Youngstown,' 'Hunted'

A correction was made to this article on Sept. 11, 2003.

Art Monterastelli has been tapped to script action thriller "Silver Strike" for Fox 2000.

The scribe collaborated with William Friedkin on the HBO telepic "Youngstown" and worked with Friedkin on Paramount/Lakeshore thriller "The Hunted," on which Monterastelli became a co-producer. He's also performed adaptations on Tom Clancy's "Rainbow Six" for Paramount and APG and on Tommy Thompson's psychological thriller "Serpentine" for Par and Lakeshore.

Commercials helmer John Bonito will make his directorial debut on "Silver Strike," which follows a military unit that goes to Eastern Europe and discovers its enemies are werewolves. Trevor Albert and Mark Gordon will produce the pic; Fox 2000 creative exec Maria Faillace is supervising.

Monterastelli is repped by ICM and attorney Tom Hoberman.
