Exec to facilitate deals relating to worldwide promotion

HOLLYWOOD -- David Miercort has joined Miramax Films' L.A. office as senior VP of acquisitions and business affairs.

Reporting to Agnes Mentre, head of the acquisition group, and Bob Osher, co-president of production, Miercort also will help facilitate agreements relating to Miramax's worldwide promotion initiatives.

Miercort most recently was senior vice prexy at Myriad Pictures' business affairs division, where he oversaw all business and legal matters.

Before that, Miercort was senior associate at Weissman, Wolff, Bergman, Coleman, Grodin & Evall. There, he was involved in all aspects of transactional entertainment law.

Miercort held a similar position as an associate in Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp's motion picture and television department.

Miercort holds a law degree from Columbia U. and is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Brown. He is a member of both the California State Bar Assn. and the Beverly Hills Bar Assn.
