Big baddie hits 'Alias'

Spy skein to feature 'Tomb's' Hounsou as heavy

Jennifer Garner's Sydney Bristow is getting some fresh butt to kick.

Thesp Djimon Hounsou ("Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life") is joining the cast of Garner starrer "Alias" in a recurring role as a big-time baddie. He'll play the head of an evil new criminal organization that the CIA will attempt to take down.

Honsou will appear in at least two episodes of the Touchstone-produced ABC drama, with an option to return for more segs depending on plot twists.

In addition to "Tomb Raider," Honsou's feature credits include "Gladiator" and "Amistad." He snagged a Golden Globe nom for his perf in the latter pic. He'll next be seen in helmer Jim Sheridan's upcoming drama "In America."

On the small screen, Hounsou had a recurring role on "ER" in 1994.
