B'way's Atkinson into 'Woods'

Cast includes Hurt, Phoenix, Weaver, Brody

Moving from "Enchanted April" to an enchanted forest, Jayne Atkinson is joining the cast of M. Night Shyamalan's film, "The Woods."

Actress, Tony-nommed this spring for her star turn in "Enchanted April," closes in the Matthew Barber stage adaptation this Sunday and reports three weeks later to a location outside Philadelphia, where the "Sixth Sense" director is at work on the pic for Walt Disney and Scott Rudin Prods. Atkinson's stint is expected to last through November.

Set in the late 19th century, "The Woods" refers to a forest, filled with mythical creatures, that surrounds a small, close-knit community.

Cast includes William Hurt, Joaquin Phoenix, Sigourney Weaver, Bryce Howard and Adrien Brody. Atkinson plays Hurt's wife.
