VH1 revisits the '80s with 'Strikes Back'

New segs slated to bow in October

Miniskirts and leg warmers aren't the only thing back from the '80s.

VH1 has greenlit "I Love the '80s Strikes Back," a third installment of the net's decade-retrospective franchise.

Production on the special begins next month, with new segs slated to roll out in October.

The December premiere of "I Love the '80s," inspired by the BBC series of the same name, was a 10-hour, weeklong flashback to the events and highlights of the decade including "Purple Rain," Donkey Kong and Milli Vanilli.

Sequel "Strikes Back" will revisit the decade with additional moments, personalities and celeb interviews.

Solid ratings for last week's "I Love the '70s" repped an improvement from the "80s" bow. Skein averaged 1.2 million total viewers for the week (up 20% over the average viewership for "80s") and posted a 0.9 in the adults 18-49 demo.

"70s" was produced by Michael Hirschorn, Meredith Ross and Shelly Tatro.
