Serena Williams

Tennis ace Serena Williams is warming up for another sport: acting.

The Wimbledon champ will hone her acting skills on an upcoming episode of the Showtime original series "Street Time" -- she has done guest spots on "My Wife and Kids" and "The Simpsons."

Williams will portray a reformed gang member on parole in an episode skedded to air Oct. 1.

"Street Time," starring Rob Morrow and Scott Cohen, bows its second season Aug. 6. Also slated to make guest appearances this season are Judd Hirsch (Aug. 27); Robert Forster (Sept. 3); and Billy Dee Williams (Sept. 10 and 17).
