Record preps TV pic

World Brief

Third-ranked broadcaster TV Record will make its first TV movie this year, according to artistic and production director Del Rangel. Unnamed 90-minute production will have a budget of 400,000 reais ($138,000).

Rangel will helm and Marcos Lazarini will pen the script.

Brazil does not have a telepic tradition. "Meu filho teu" (My Son, Your Son), a 2001 co-production of broadcaster TV Globo, Columbia TriStar and Total Filmes, is the only recent example; TV Globo did not air it.
