Retro blast rocks Roxy
Duran Duran rediscover their youth

"It's sort of like rediscovering your youth," keyboardist Nick Rhodes said of the Roxy show which kicked off their U.S. tour. "It's as if we're in a time warp, nothing happened and we stepped back into it and everything sounds better than it did then."
Veteran KROQ deejay Rodney Bingenheimer pronounced the band's timing for its reunion perfect "because there are so many bands out there right now that are influenced by the eighties, the whole eighties sound."
The era's fashion staged a return as well during the Chateau Marmont after-party: shaggy hair, white mini-skirts and loud makeup could be spotted on the women -- white suits, Flock of Seagulls haircuts, and skinny ties among the men.
Most party-goers also seemed to be reliving their youth, with thirtysomething femmes heard marveling, "I touched John Taylor's arm!"
But women weren't the only ones awed by the Simon LeBon and company.
Donovan Leitch, no stranger to the rock life, confessed he used to "copy Simon's dance moves and fantasize about what it was like to be living in London."
Other retro rock fans included Brett Ratner, Beck, Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale, Joy Bryant, Mark McGrath, Christina Applegate, plus Tony Kanal and Adrian Young of No Doubt.
