The appointment signals RTL's intention to raise its profile and increase its activities in Spain, Zulueta said.
It follows the recently announced collaboration pact between RTL and Spain's Planeta Group following Planeta's acquisition this April of a 25.1% controlling interest in Spanish commercial broadcaster Antena 3.
RTL holds 17.3% in Antena 3. Both may raise their stakes in the web.
Zulueta will continue to head up his own consulting banner, Mabuat.
The New-York born Zulueta is a graduate of George Town University, where he studied economics. Prior to his Fremantle positions, Zulueta worked as the director of programming and contents at Spanish satcaster Via Digital.
