Loehneysen exiting IN-Motion board

Exec to focus on building budding label

By ED MEZA

BERLIN -- Konrad von Loehneysen, managing director of the Ministry of Sound Germany, is stepping down from the board of parent company IN-Motion to focus on managing the music label.

The move was prompted by the success of the independent label during the past six months, von Loehneysen said Wednesday.

"We have six singles in the top 50 including the No. 1, four albums in the top 40 and a top five DVD," said von Loehneysen.

"With a team of nine people we have achieved a chart share to rival some majors. My priority is to build on this success and to establish MOS Germany as the blueprint for the modern music business by providing a hands-on, full-service and musically diverse approach."

Von Loehneysen added that his task as member of the board, to consolidate the group's various music interests and coordinate relevant frontline departments such as A&R, promotion and marketing, had been accomplished.

MOS Germany is a joint-venture between London-based music company Ministry of Sound, von Loehneysen and IN-Motion, which also has interests in film and TV production, as well as a stake in European music group SPV.

Company handles high-profile artists such as Simply Red and German popstar Xavier Naidoo but also remains a popular dance label in the German, Swiss and Austrian market with hits such as Snap's "The Power Of Banghra 2003."
