B'way finds its 'Sly' guy
Dreyfuss inks for Penn-helmed prod'n

Larry Gelbart's comedy, first seen in 1976 with George C. Scott in the title role, transports Ben Jonson's "Volpone" to the Old West of gunslingers and barroom brawls. Then and now, Arthur Penn is director.
Previews will begin Feb. 27 after a brief out-of-town engagement. Producers are Julian Schlossberg, Roy Furman, Ben Sprecher, Michael Gardner and James Fantaci by arrangement with Andrew Braunsberg.
The Schlossberg/Furman/Sprecher conglom also presented Penn's previous Broadway outing, "Fortune's Fool," during the 2001-02 season. At that show's opening-night preem party, Penn mentioned "Fortune's Fool" star Frank Langella as a possibility for the "Sly Fox" lead.
'Maiden' voyage
Dreyfuss was last seen on Broadway in Ariel Dorfman's "Death and the Maiden" in 1992. In the past year he has appeared Off Broadway in limited engagements in "Trumbo" and "The Exonerated."
"Sly Fox" will feature set design by Jesse Poleshuck, costumes by Albert Wolsky and lighting design by Peter Kaczorowski.
