HFPA taps new officers

Veep re-elected; Berk, Hosain join cabinet

Lorenzo Soria was elected president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. for the year 2003-04 at the annual election meeting.

Lawrie Masterson was re-elected vice president, Philip Berk was elected treasurer and Munawar Hosain executive secretary.

Dagmar Dunlevy, most recently HFPA prexy, is the new chairman of the board of directors. The rest of the board is composed of Elmar Biebl, Yani Begakis, Jean Cummings, Mira Panajotovic and Marlene von Arx.

Soria, who has been a member of the org for 14 years, is a correspondent for Italy's daily newspaper La Stampa and the weekly newsmag L'Espresso.

The HFPA will host its annual installation luncheon later this summer to honor the new officers and directors, at which time the HFPA will make its annual donations to nonprofit orgs and film schools.
