Directed by Alexander Rogozhkin and fresh from Cannes, pic is about three soldiers from different nations stuck together in the final days of World War II. Story is told in Russian, Finnish and Sami (the language of the people formerly known as Lapps) with subtitles.
Festival will close with Danny Boyle's horror film"28 Days Later."
Twenty-four features and 20 shorts will be presented over the weekend. Jace Alexander's "Carry Me Home" and Adam Yaffe's "The Book of Danny" will have their world premieres at Nantucket. Other skedded pics include award winners "Thirteen" and "The Magdalene Sisters."
Paul Rudd, John Sloss and Tom Gilroy will sit on the jury for the Showtime-sponsored Tony Cox screenwriting kudo. Ismail Merchant, James Ivory and "Laurel Canyon" producer Susan Stover will be on the jury for the writer-director honor.
As previously announced, scribe-friendly fest will fete Ruth Prawer Jhabvala with NBC's screenwriter tribute. A staged reading of Steven Soderbergh and Scott Kramer's script for "A Confederacy of Dunces" has been skedded.
Special programs at the fest include nightly beach screenings open to the public and a series of New England films.
