Dreyer joins Liaisons as veep

Exec to deal with development, acquisitions, Focus' projects

Miramax vet Elizabeth Dreyer has signed on as vice president of development and acquisitions at Liaisons Films, Stephanie Sperry's production company set up at Focus Features.

In addition to handling development and acquisitions inhouse for Liaisons, the Paris-based Dreyer will work with Focus Features exec VP for acquisitions and co-production Amy Kaufman on the studio's own projects.

Dreyer's career includes a seven-year tenure at Miramax, where she was most recently VP of acquisitions, based in London. She played a major role in the acquisition of Jean-Pierre Jeunet's "Amelie," as well as Nanni Moretti's Palme d'Or-winning "The Son's Room."

Prior to that, she worked in Miramax's Gotham offices tracking American independent films.
