Kane raising PR shingle

Exec o'saw campaigns for 'Shakespeare,' 'English Patient'

NEW YORK -- Miramax senior VP of publicity Teri Kane is ankling to set up her own shingle.

Kane, a nine-year vet of the mini-major, will launch Gotham-based Teri Kane Public Relations. She will continue to work with Miramax in her new capacity.

"Teri has made great contributions to Miramax during her long tenure with the company," company's co-chair, Harvey Weinstein said. "We are confident that she will enjoy great success in her new venture and are happy to be among her first clients."

At Miramax, Kane oversaw publicity campaigns for films including "Shakespeare in Love," and "The English Patient." Prior to joining Miramax, she was senior VP at Clein, Feldman + White PR, where her clients included Fine Line and William Morris.

Kane began her film career in production, working on films such as "Raging Bull" and "Kramer vs. Kramer."
