Roadshow's Goldberg tops prod'n

Exec working on 'Matrix Reloaded,' 'Troy,' 'Catwoman'

Dana Goldberg has been promoted to exec VP and head of production for Warner Bros.-based Village Roadshow Pictures and inked a new three-year contract.

Goldberg, who has been with the company for four years and was previously senior VP of production, will continue to report directly to Bruce Berman, chairman and CEO of Village Roadshow Pictures.

In addition to the May 16 opening of Warner Bros./Village Roadshow's "The Matrix Reloaded," Goldberg is currently involved with upcoming films including "Taking Lives," starring Angelina Jolie and Ethan Hawke; "Torque," produced by Neal Moritz; "Catwoman," starring Halle Berry; "Troy," starring Brad Pitt and Eric Bana and directed by Wolfgang Petersen; and "Happy Feet," the George Miller-directed CGI film.

"Dana is intimately involved in working with me on the VRP slate and is an integral voice in selecting the movies that we make," said Berman. "Her excellent taste combined with her strong relationships with filmmakers and especially our partners at Warner Bros. make her an invaluable asset to our company."

Added Goldberg: "I am proud to be recognized for the work I've done at Village Roadshow, and I couldn't ask for a better boss than Bruce Berman or better partners than the Warner Bros. Pictures executive team."

Before joining VRP in 1999 as VP of production, Goldberg was a creative exec and then VP of production at Barry Levinson and Paula Weinstein's Baltimore/Spring Creek Pictures for three years. She began her entertainment career as an assistant at Disney's now defunct Hollywood Pictures.
