Romantic comedy is about a man who begins a new relationship but is haunted by the ghost of his dead wife.
Adam Shankman's Disney-based Offspring Prods. is producing, with Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot sharing producing credits.
Project, which is being rewritten, was developed by newly promoted Offspring VP Matthew Mizel, who will co-produce.
"I'm extremely proud of Matthew," said Adam Shankman. "He understands what Offspring is all about and mine and Jen's taste, and I'm sure he's going to be an outstanding producer in his own right. I'm also thrilled to be continuing my relationship with Warner Bros. after working with them on 'A Walk to Remember.' "
Warner Bros. VP Polly Cohen and creative exec Kristin Lowe are overseeing the project.
Lowell is repped by UTA and Brillstein-Grey manager Peter Safran, who helped shepherd the script to Offspring. Lowell recently wrote "Mr. Game Show" and "John Tucker Must Die," both for MGM.
Mizel recently set up at Fox the family comedy "Pet Store," written by Eric Barker and currently in development.
He was formerly a development exec at Offspring and before that was associate producer on Warner Bros.' "A Walk to Remember." He assisted Shankman on Sony's "The Wedding Planner" and also worked with director Tony Kaye on New Line's "American History X." He began his career as an agent trainee at UTA.
