Casting set in 'Stones'

Comedy vets say Eye to pilots

TV sitcom vets Judith Light and Jonathan Silverman, as well as comedian Robert Klein, have secured comedy roles in the latest round of pilot casting.

Light ("Who's the Boss") will star as the matriarch Evelyn while Klein will play Stan in CBS comedy pilot "The Stones."

"The Stones," from Warner Bros. TV, revolves around a couple on the verge of divorce and their stunned twentysomething-aged kids. David Kohan, Max Mutchnick and Jenji Kohan exec produce.

Light recently had a recurring role on "Law & Order Special Victims Unit." Besides sitcoms such as "Phenom" and "The Simple Life," she's appeared in several telepics through the years, including "The Ryan White Story." She's repped by Gersh.

Klein recently appeared in the features "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" and "Two Weeks Notice." He also starred in last season's laffer "Bob Patterson."

Meanwhile, bachelor no more, "The Single Guy's" Silverman will play a married man with two children in the CBS comedy pilot "Crazy Love."

Project, which stars Peter MacNichol, revolves around a couple who adopt a baby from China. "Crazy Love," from Touchstone and CBS Prods., is exec produced by Bob Stevens and Jamie Tarses.

Silverman, who starred in the feature "Weekend at Bernie's" and its sequel, recently appeared in the Showtime movie "Deacons of Defense." He's repped by William Morris.

Also, ABC has pushed its untitled sitcom from exec producers David Ronn and Jay Scherick to midseason. The Touchstone comedy stars Samantha Mathis, but the studio was unable to locate two more leads.

The laffer revolves around three adult siblings who reach a turning point in life.
