Sizemore sizes up 'Paparazzi'

'Dreamcatcher' thesp could join Hauser in pic

Tom Sizemore is in final negotiations to topline "Paparazzi" at 20th Century Fox.

Produced by Mel Gibson's Fox-based Icon Prods., pic revolves around a movie star who plots revenge after suffering a near-tragedy due to relentless hounding by a photographer. Forest Smith scripted.

Cole Hauser (next appearing in "2 Fast 2 Furious") is set to star as the harassed actor. Paul Abascal, a television director with credits that include "Witchblade," "Secret Agent Man" and "Nash Bridges," is at the helm.

Gibson will produce with partner Bruce Davey at Icon, which signed a two-year, first-look deal with Fox in March 2002. Fox will handle the project's domestic distribution, with international rights going to Icon. Fox production prexy Hutch Parker will oversee the pic for the studio.

Sizemore, who's repped by CAA and managed by Untitled, is currently starring in the Warner Bros./Castle Rock release "Dreamcatcher." Other recent credits including "Big Trouble," "Pearl Harbor" and "Black Hawk Down." He also starred in this season's now-canceled CBS crime drama "Robbery Homicide."
