BMI lands int'l chief

Solleveld named senior VP

BMI has tapped veteran label exec Ron Solleveld as senior vice president of the musical performing-rights org's international division. Solleveld, who'll be based in New York and report to prexy and chief exec Frances W. Preston, has been with BMI for eight months.

In the new role, Solleveld has day-to-day oversight of all BMI's operations abroad, with a special emphasis on its relationships with foreign performing-rights orgs.

Exec has logged three decades in the music business, most recently as VP of international for BMG Music Publishing Worldwide. Before that, he was prexy of Sunbury-Dunbar Music Publishing in Canada. While in that post, he also served as secretary/treasurer of the Canadian Country Music Assn. and as a board member of the Canadian Music Publishers Assn.

Solleveld has held various posts at RCA Records, Chappell Music, Intersong Intl. and CBS Songs in the U.S., Canada and Europe.
