Lewinsky adds 'Personality' to Fox

Group of masked men to court a beautiful woman in dating show

Monica Lewinsky, who last starred in the unscripted 1998 drama "Who Wants to Bring Down a President?," has landed a gig hosting the upcoming Fox reality skein "Mr. Personality."

Fox alternative topper Mike Darnell was inspired to offer Lewinsky a hosting job after discussing potential TV projects with her.

Fox and Nash Entertainment, which produces "Mr. Personality," hope the addition of Lewinsky will draw more viewers.

"The combination of Monica Lewinsky with a concept like 'Mr. Personality' will result in a big tune-in," said Bruce Nash, who created the show with Robert Kosberg. "It's already a unique concept, and she's certainly well-known."

"Mr. Personality" will follow a group of average-looking men whose faces have been masked as they try to court a beautiful young woman. Throughout the dating process, their looks will be hidden. The woman will eliminate a contestant each week until she narrows her choice to one man.

The male contestants' masks will be color-coded and a latex plastic will be contoured to the shape of their faces. Show debuts Monday, April 21, at 9.

"Since Fox is the network that has had the greatest success with this genre, I was very excited when they approached me to host the show," Lewinsky said. "It sounds like good fun."

Lewinsky, who designs handbags and accessories that she sells via her Web site, most recently appeared in the HBO doc "Monica in Black & White." That program, taped at New York's Cooper Union College, featured Lewinsky answering questions about her dalliance with President Clinton.

But for the most part, Lewinsky has kept a low profile in the years since her relationship with Clinton came to light. Lewinsky also appeared in an MTV special with comedian Tom Green, but she turned down overtures to appear in the Fox special "Celebrity Boxing."

Nash exec produces "Mr. Personality," along with Brian Gadinsky.
