Hanlon had lived and worked in New York City before moving to Marshfield about 13 years ago. He essayed small roles in the films "Dirty Laundry,'' "Good Will Hunting,'' "A Civil Action,'' "Meet Joe Black'' and "The Spanish Prisoner.''
He also appeared in stage plays at the Nora Theater Company in Boston and the New Repertory Theater in Newton.
Manlon, who had a private practice as a tax preparer specializing in the performing arts, wrote "The New Tax Guide for Performers, Writers, Directors, Designers and Other Show Biz Folk.''
He began and ran the Fine Performance Series at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Duxbury, where he was a member of the congregation.
Hanlon is survived by his wife, Marjorie; a daughter; two sisters; and two brothers.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. today at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Duxbury.
