HOLLYWOOD -- The stars came out on Sunday to celebrate those behind the screen that make them look good onscreen.
"They've got you right where they want you," said
Dustin Hoffman to fellow actors of the unsung designing heroes, as he accepted his distinguished actor award at the fifth annual Costume Designers Guild Awards. "They've thought of your part longer and harder than you have, and have a fix on your part. If you are smart, you will submit quickly."

Ann Roth that fittings for "The Hours," helped her find the character. "Standing in front of the three-way mirror when something clicked in to help create my character was simply wonderful," the Oscar hopeful said.

Rita Riggs was honored with the career achievement in television award.
HBO litigant
James Gandolfini sat in the audience and posed for pictures, but avoided the red carpet mob as if they wanted to add concrete boots to his ensemble.
